"Scaling Up" by Vern Harnish.
Of course, the book that has to come first is Verne Harnish's 2014 book "Scaling Up" a completely updated version of his 2001 book "Mastering the Rockefeller Habits". In this book, Verne introduces new material, case studies and content from the learnings of the 13 years since MRH. Verne lays out his approach to scaling up businesses through his "Four Decisions" framework centred on the key questions on People, Strategy, Execution and Cash, the key decisions you need to make to position your business for growth.
This book is the basis for most of our work at Gazelles and this is the book we would recommend if you are considering starting on your growth journey. Packed with key learnings that boil down the complex into what are often startlingly simple insights into what stops companies from growing and how to position your company for growth. If you read one book this year, make it this one. Better still, read the book and get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll help you put Verne's learnings into practice in your firm.
