My journey

I'm Ged Roberts, CEO of Crystalyzer, and I've dedicated my career to the art and science of leadership and leadership coaching. Over the years, I've honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of what it takes to lead effectively. Now, I use that knowledge to guide other high-performing, high-EQ CEOs and leadership teams on their own leadership journeys.
I'm not just a coach, I'm a facilitator. I create spaces where knowledge-hungry leaders can grow, learn, and thrive. I firmly believe that emotional intelligence (EQ) is just as important as business acumen, and I've made it my mission to help leaders develop both. I understand that leadership isn't just about making tough decisions and driving business growth, it's also about understanding and managing emotions, both your own and those of your team.
My approach to coaching is unique. I don't tell leaders what to do, I guide them on a journey of self-learning. I help them uncover their strengths, address their weaknesses, become vulnerable and become the best leaders they can be. I believe that every leader has the potential to be great, and I'm committed to helping them unlock that potential.

But my work isn't just about business. I understand that great leaders are well-rounded individuals, and I'm committed to helping my clients achieve balance in all areas of their lives. I help them navigate the challenges of leadership while also maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I believe that personal well-being is a key component of effective leadership, and I work with my clients to ensure they're taking care of themselves as well as their teams.
In a world where leadership can often feel isolating, I am a trusted partner, a sounding board, and a guide. I'm there for my clients when they need me, providing support, guidance, and a fresh, independent perspective. I'm not just helping them become better leaders, I'm helping them become people because the world needs better people more now than ever.

My background, I have had a very eclectic past, at a very early age I joined the British Merchant Navy and trained as an Engineer Officer. From 1982 to 1990, I learned my craft and then spent several years sailing deep see across the globe on ships that these days seem very quaint. Serving as an officer started my leadership journey and taught me that teams can produce much more than just individual contributions. When the time came to come ashore I went back to school and studied Naval Architecture and then worked as a Naval Architect for several years before realising that I was pretty good at writing software to solve Naval Architecture problems so I moved into software development and consulting before leading teams of software specialists. Fast forward a few years I found myself running very large teams, then business units, then companies and then start ups.

In 2015, I decided that I would have more impact on business and CEOs by working with a portfolio of about 10 companies to show them how to scale and grow whilst keeping balance in their teams, their business and their lives. Initially, focused on the excellent execution system "Scaling Up", in 2018 I shifted my focus to the very new but already very successful Compound Business Growth System "Metronomics", conceived by Shannon Byrne Susko. Since 2015, I have coached hundreds of businesses, leaders and teams on how to scale with ease, speed and confidence.

I love what I do and you will love what I do too!
